Rural Village Hall Feasibility Study

Bannau Brycheiniog National Park

Project Title: The Rural Village Hall

Location: Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, Wales

Client: Village Hall Committee, with support from the National Park Authority

Project Type: Feasibility study with business plan

Date: 2023-2024

Appointed by the Village Hall Committee and Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority, Situated Studio worked closely with a business planner, cost consultant and complex and diverse range of stakeholders to develop plans which make the most of the fascinating but dilapidated historic building and its fantastic location within the National Park, balancing identified demand and the need to generate income with the most pressing needs of the local and wider community, ensuring that the Hall has a prosperous and sustainable future.

Working as a team with the quantity surveyor allowed us to identify costs for essential remedial works as well as outline costs for different development options, so that the clients could make informed decisions about how to progress with any building works.

The feasibility study concluded with the production of a comprehensive report which set out findings and design proposals, including a business plan, cost report, suggested next steps and potential funding sources. As well as a set of plan drawings, Amanda produced images which capture the vision and demonstrated the potential of the proposals to help build support and attract funding.
